Water Tower Definition


According to a definition from Wikipedia, a water tower is best described as a structure designed to provide elevated support for water tanks and are usually designed according to the recommendations of a Plumber, water engineer to provide sufficient pressure for a water distribution system.

Water tower could be designed with concrete or steel but in this article, we are going to be looking at the cost estimate for construction and installation of steel water tower In Nigeria.

How Effective Is steel Water Tower


Steel water towers are usually made of steel. When professionally constructed, steel water towers are strong and durable and allows for serviceability when the need arises.

They are cheap compared to concrete water towers.

In this article, the estimation will be made for a tower required to support 6000 Litres (1320 Gallons) of water. This means our water tower till provide support for 3 water tanks of 2000 litres each.

Choice of Materials required to Construct steel water tower depends on the budget of the client. However, if you are a steel fabricator, I suggest you always make clear the difference between Steel water tower designed with Galvanized pipe and that designed with Steel Pipe as the strength and durability is never the same.

Which Is the best Option

Between options A and B, i will always suggest clients go for the best because it is durable and gives no headache, Option B is best for Residential Buildings.

Note: Ensure you make a market survey in your area as prices listed were obtained in Delta state, Nigeria.

If you live outside Nigeria and would love to have this constructed for you, ensure the engineer or welder knows his work and has experience for the job before you push your money.
